My journey into photography first began when traveling with my family as a child. By late adolescence, I had visited 40+ states in the USA while carrying with me everything from disposable cameras to my first digital camera - a 2.1 megapixel Olympus C2100UZ. The problem I discovered very early was that the photos I was getting developed when I got back home didn't look nearly as beautiful as what I was seeing with my eyes on the trip. Thus began my unending journey to try capturing in-camera what I was seeing before me. It's been both rewarding and challenging, as I've taken more bad, blurry photos than I have good ones; but, my passion for the natural world and my desire to learn and improve has kept me motivated.
Though my greatest passions are wildlife and landscape photography, I spend time in other areas as well. In college, I invested in my first dSLR - a Canon Digital Rebel XT - and began taking sports photos for the college newspaper and yearbook. I shot basketball, softball, baseball, golf, tennis, football, and soccer games - tinkering with settings until I got the results I wanted. I've since learned so much more about controlling the camera, have invested in high-quality gear, and have photographed weddings, newborns, families, senior portraits, engagement shoots, and a wide variety of high school sports.
My love for photography has remained a hobby as I work full-time as a professor in the mental health field, but I still make myself available for photoshoots. I’m grateful you've taken a few minutes to visit my site, and I’d be happy to talk with you about setting up a shoot if you're interested. Feel free to use the “Contact Me” page to send me an email.
If you’re interested in purchasing prints, that can be done directly through the site by clicking any photo, then the “Buy” icon at the bottom right. Your order will be completed and processed by Bay Photo - an exceptionally high quality print lab out of California.
Thanks again for stopping by, and feel free to leave me a comment or question on any of my work!
